Beta Download Selection

There are currently two beta versions of FocusMax available for download. 

 

Please select the link to the version that you wish to test.

 

 

FocusMax Beta V 3.1.1 is dated Sept 10, 2003. This has the following new features:

1.     Adds the ability to use relative focusers such as the Meade LX-200GPS microfocuser, the Meade 1206 and JMI Crayford focusers connected to the LX-200 analog focuser port.

2.     Adds the ability to use CCDSoft.

3.     New Move Focuser control utility with backlash compensation

4.     New Acquire Star operation that works with PinPoint to automatically select and slew the telescope to a bright nearby star, do an autofocus and then return to the original telescope position.

5.     Improved Telescope control utility

6.     Added auto-dark for CCDSoft (See switch on Open>Options menu ).

7.     Fixed bug that sometimes created multiple instances of FocusMax during shutdown.

8.     Made First Light Wizard more foolproof by initially erasing old slopes in MySystem.ini. A warning is given to alert the user of possible lost data.

9.     FocusMax Simulator now works in Relative Focuser mode.

10.     Fixed major Regional Settings bug. Users needing settings other than English (USA) must use this version.

11.     Improved AcquireStar algorithm and GUI.

12.     Telescope polling rate is now user selectable ( See Telescope Set>Polling rate menu )

13.     Focus graphs can now be loaded at start of FocusMax ( See Set>Start Up Windows menu ).

14.     Fixed bug that gives error messages when using MaxIm DL V 3.2.0.

 

FocusMax Beta V 3.1.3 is dated Nov 16, 2003. This has the following new features:

1.     Faster and more robust Acquire Star algorithm.

2.     Checks on Relative Focuser travel limits.

 

 

 

FixTheSkyAndFocusMax.exe is dated February 18, 2003.  This fixes a problem that you may have connecting the “ASCOM Telescope API for TheSky” to the FocusMax Telescope HUB.  This problem only occurs if you are running Windows XP, 2000 or NT.

To fix your registry to correct this problem:

1.     Close both FocusMax and TheSky

2.     Launch FixTheSkyAndFocusMax.exe

3.     Click the “Do the Fix” button
