St Mary's Mothers' Guild


St Mary's Mothers' Guild was founded in 1942 by Rev. John Loughlin, then Pastor of St. Mary's Church. It is a service organization to St Mary's School whose membership includes all parents of children attending the school. It raises funds for the school for various activities that benefit the children.

Duties of Officers

President:

  • Preside at all meetings of the Guild and Executive Board.
  • Appoint Chairpersons and Members of Committees, or accept volunteers.
  • Plan the meetings and activities of the Guild in conjunction with the proper committees.
  • Sign all official documents and papers of the Guild.
  • Perform all the other duties as are usually attached to the Office of President.
  • Encourage spiritual development through prayerful activities and service.
Treasurer:

  • Collect all monies of the Guild.
  • Deposit all monies in a bank account in the name of the St. Mary's School Mothers' Guild.
  • Pay all obligations of the Guild after they have been authorized by the Executive Board.
  • Keep an accurate account of all receipts and disbursements.
  • Present a report of the financial condition of the Guild at all meetings of the Guild.
  • Facilitate a bi-annual financial statement of the finances of the Guild
Secretary:

  • Keep a record of the proceedings of the Guild and publish minutes to send out in the brown envelope before the next Guild meeting.
  • Keep a record of the proceeding of the Executive Board meetings and keep them separate from those of the Guild.
  • Sign all documents, resolutions and papers of the Guild
  • Put notice of the Guild meetings in the St. Mary's Church Bulletin.
Financial Secretary:

  • Notify the members when dues are payable.
  • Collect dues and mark membership cards.
  • Maintain an accurate roster of members.
  • Carry through any other duties as requested by the President.
  • In the absence or disability of the Treasurer, you are authorized to assume the duties of that office.
